New Baby Boy!

I have been away from my blog for some time now because I have had a baby and he is taking up a lot of my time.

Our little boy Joshua was born on the 18th March 2014 and is now 3 months old and its been a real journey getting to this stage.

Little Joshua was born 2 months earlier than his expected arrival and it was a huge shock!!
Weighing only 3lb 2oz he was whisked off to the neonatal ward for specialist treatment.

My husband and I spent 7 weeks visiting our little boy and it was an up and down emotional rollercoaster.

3 months on and he now weighs 7lb 4oz and is doing very well. He is still much smaller than other babies at 3 months, but he is very strong and gaining weight every week.

My crafting has taken a back seat due to the round the clock feeds and nappy changes, but although I am sleep deprived I am enjoying every moment of it.

All photographs on this blogpost are taken by my husband James Perry, James Perry Photography ©. We are very lucky to have such a talented person capturing all of Joshua's special moments.

Crochet Mood Blanket 2014

I have decided to embark on a 365 day challenge which will be to crochet one Granny Square every day throughout 2014 and so far I am off to a good start. 20 days in and the blanket is getting pretty big already!

I will actually be making 2 Granny Squares a day so that I will have 2 identical blankets one which I will keep for myself and the other will be a gift for my sister as she has mentioned a few times that she would like a crocheted blanket, but I just never got around to starting one and so this way it can be made bit by bit throughout the year.

I am getting more than a little addicted with making these little Granny Squares and I have started to make several other little blankets alongside these mood blankets. The colour combinations are endless and I just love checking out all the different blankets being made on Instagram.

I do love my hobby and often sit listening to the radio forgetting what the time is and crocheting long in to the night.
